Teaching English as a Foreign Language
In 2013, I was approached by a local host family of a German au pair who wanted to gain an English qualification whilst she was here in the UK. Although they had a reasonable grasp of the English language, looking at the requirements of the Cambridge Advanced level qualification it was clear that they would require some help and so I agreed to help with their tuition.
The Cambridge Advanced level qualification is recognised by in excess of 6000 businesses, educational institutions and government offices as proof of a persons high standards of English and aims to help learners develop the required skills for living in an English speaking country.
The tuition was conducted during the day whilst the families children were at school and the au pair had time available. During the lessons we looked at all aspects of the examination, from speaking and listening skills, to written English and the use of grammar in the English Language.
